Portrait Commissions

I love painting portraits, and my goal is to capture the personality of the subject within the image using expressive brushwork and color. Get more information on the options available below. Whether purchasing for yourself or someone you love, a custom portrait is a great way to celebrate

Larger Portraits

These portraits are done in acrylic paint on a canvas or wood support (your preference). They are taken to a high level of finish with a focus on keeping a balance between tightness of detail and expressive brushwork. If you want a full body portrait that can be done here, or the portrait can be kept tighter based on preference.

  • 3-5 Weeks for a single figure (add 1-2 weeks per additional figure)

    The time frames listed represent the time to completion from the start date - please submit a request for a quote

  • 16 x 20 - $600

    11 x 14 - $500

    *add 25% to the cost for each additional figure

Small to Medium Sized Portraits

These portraits are done in acrylic and the smaller sizes can have looser and more expressive brushwork if you would prefer. You can see the range of directions in the images above - you can include your preferences in the notes or we can arrange a phone call or discuss through email.

  • Please note that times listed below are ranges that begin from the start date. Please submit a request to get a quote based on when the painting can be started

    5 x 7 : 2-3 Weeks

    8 x 10: 3-4 Weeks

    9 x 12 : 3-5 Weeks

    *add 1 week to the estimate for each additional figure

  • 5 x 7: 200

    8 x 12: $300

    9 x 12: $400

    Plus shipping fees

    *Add 25% to the cost for each additional figure in the painting.

Digital Portraits

These are painted using digital painting software. If you are on a budget or simply prefer to have a native digital painting this is the choice for you. Because of the ease of edits it takes less time to get these to a comparable level of finish. The expressive brushwork is retained in the digital painting, although not to the same degree as natural media.

  • Please note that the time listed represent the time to finish the painting from the date it is started. Please submit a quote to get an estimation of when this could begin.

    1-2 Weeks

  • Digital pieces will be $150 to create. You will receive a high quality digital image in .Tiff, JPG, and .PNG formats printable up to 11 x 14 at 300 DPI. If you do wish to have the image printed please specify the size you would like so it can be created with that in mind.

    Additional cost for prints on watercolor paper:

    $150 creation cost plus:

    8 x 10: $10

    9 x 12: $15

    11 x 14: $20

    16 x 20: $30

    18 x 24: $ 40

    Please note that if you want this to print larger than 11 x 14 that will need to be specified prior to the start of the painting so that the creation can be adjusted accordingly.
